My 40th Bday

Yesterday was my 40th birthday. I spent most of the week before slowly celebrating and enjoying myself. I know it showed on the scale but I did not care.
Even Google knew it was my birthday!!!
I feel very blessed to have lived this long and gotten through all of the stuff I have been through.  I also had my youngest child turn 3yrs old a few days ago. 
So to say that it has been a whirlwind would be an understatement.
Let me share some of the pics from my bday week(end).

I got up and took the kids to school.

Ran some errands with my hubby.

Then went to lunch with hubby at

 My hubby tried ( and liked) edamame.

 I had the lunch portion of the Luau Salad. YUmmy!

 Then I got one slice of Linda's fudge cake. It took me 2 sittings to finish it. Again...DELISH!!

 Then we went to the mal.. I have always wanted to try Bare Minerals make up. So he got me some. Check out the difference:

I also had my annual physical done on my bday .. so my day was productive and fun. Best of both worlds.
 When I came back to work on Tuesday I had a mailbox full of stuff. It felt great especially since I had felt so down the week before having been 'stood up' by some mew, some-called friends...


I definitely feel like I started my 40s off right. I even exercised on my birthday. I really want to make exercise a daily thing in my life. I know it will only help me.

It is 1am on SUnday morning and I realized that I haven't updated my chart all week. Another week of semi regrets and still not giving up.

CrossFit 101 - Day 1

I went to my 1st CrossFit class. To get to take regular classes at the 'gym' you have to go to Crossfit 101. CrossFit101 is a series of 3 consecutive classes to introduce you to the basics of CrossFit.

Here is how the 1st night went down. We are all newbies so that made me feel way more comfortable. There a total of 6 people including myself.... 2 guys and 4 ladies. Age range oldest person was 43 and everyone else was under but probably all in their 30s.

We warm up with these PCs poles while we introduced ourselves and told why we wanted to come to CrossFit.

I gave my name and said how I wanted to become a Bad Itch. .... especially since I am about to turn 40.

Next we did a series of 'basic activities'.....
  • air squat
  • push up
  • ring pull ups
Next followed a run. 800 meters total.
I was winded but I survived. I thought that I can do this.
I was in for a big surprise.

We find out that we still have the WOD. What is WOD? It is the Workout Of the Day... A set of exercises for us to complete as a group.

Our WOD was:
  • 200m run
  • 15 air squats, 15 push ups, 15 ring pull ups
  • repeat above
  • 200 m run
My time was 10min 28 seconds. I was exhausted when I was done.
It was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
I felt so great about doing it and not quitting.

Another rough emotionally draining week. I wish I could say I am dealing with it all well but I am not. I start strong but I finish weak. I am glad the weekend is winding down. I am not sure where to start.
I had a huge blow out with some friends this morning and it has really thrown me for a loop.

My approaching bday also has me thining about life and how to make it work for me.

CrossFit Consultation

Good day all...
I went last night to my CrossFit Consultation. For those who are unfamiliar  with CrossFit. Here is an explanation off of the CrossFit.comhttp://crossfit.com web site.

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen. 

I purchased a deal off of Amazon.com for 20 Crossfit sessions for $40. This includes the consultation, the 3 intro classes, then 16 more regular classes. The gym I am going to is CrossFit on the Move

Comeback Update

This week has had its up and downs. I guess that is about my consistency or lack there of.

I got a new phone on Tuesday. I got an iPhone 4S. My old phone was dying in the middle of calls and it was so frustrating.

I am going to have to relearn my phone to make sure that I maximize it.

My bday girls night is Saturday. I am excited and anxious... I also have next week off so I am hoping to have lotsa fun with my kids.

PRIORITY #1 "DO-IT" : Get a smaller si
zed dress. OK--- I have this real pretty black dress that I wore Dec. 2006. It is a size 14.
DO-IT: Set & stay w/in calorie limit. I will do this on MyFitness Pal Food Diary. MFP gives me 1300 calories before exercise. So that is where I want to stay... definitely no more than 1500 cals. a day.
DO-IT: Exercise-min. 3x/wk. I will walk with kids & dog. I will use my Wii fit. This can also been seen on MyFitnessPal Exercise Diary.DO-IT: Strive to be consistent with healthy challenge habits.
DO-IT: H2o Water & I are best buds.

DO-IT: Ok this was the hardest. I have decided to read either
The Procrastination Equation: How to Stop Putting Things Off and Start Getting Stuff Done or 100 Days of Weight Loss: The Secret to Being Successful on Any Diet Plan.

I have been a bit swamped but a am slowly fixing my habits (again). I had lost my desire to work out with all that has been goin on. But I know that I owe it to myself to invest in a few minutes of exercise daily.

My daughter has a sleep study Thursday pm so I figured I better post now while I have minute.

It felt good to get my body moving the times I did manage to work out. I am not where I was a month of so back but I can get there and further if I set my mind to it.

I tried the 10minute solutions movies on Netflix. I did hop hop dancing. Real fun. Real workout as well. I could feel my body being a bit outta shape.

The past for days in pictures can be summed up:

Cupcakes left out for any takers at work.

I did my hair and put n cntacts to look cute 4 hubby when he came home.

Fell asleep in my contacts and my eyes ..... and well see for yourself.....

So i went to eye doctor to make sure I didn;t have an eye infection.

My day today at work has been ok. I am tired and broke til hubby gets paid on the 15th. 
My daughter has a sleep study thing tonight. I am planning on reading and catching up on some sleep myself.

New treadmill

Do you likey my pants....?

My hubby found a used treadmill for me on Craigslist for just $40 and it works. I got on it for 15mins until I started having a coughing fit. I am so excited as I was losing interest in the Wii. SO now I can workout a new way on my terms.

I am still not back in the game 100% but I feel myself omcing back to where I was jsut a few shorts weeks back.
